COLLEGE PRESIDENTS DESERVE BETTER THAN SUB ROSA POLITICS

Kendell Baker, the former president of UND, is now head of Ohio Northern University. He was chosen for the post from a field of 100 applicants by the unanimous vote of a 43-member search committee.

In his eight years at UND, he and his wife, Toby, won the support of the faculty, the students and the community. 

He was forced to leave UND as a result of an ugly dispute.  This is a sad commentary for a University president but typical of the ill treatment individuals receive who fall out of favor with UND's long-time entrenched,  incompetent bureaucrats.

Mr. Kupchella made some great accomplishments during his short tenure at UND, however,  UND's bureaucratic machine will probably not permit Kupchella to perform his job in an unrestricted manner causing him to leave his post suddenly as a result of some ugly dispute.
