UND DENIES VIOLINIST TENURE

Grand Forks violinist Barbara Rask concertmaster of the Greater Grand Forks symphony has been denied tenure after six years on the UND music faculty.

Unless she successfully appeals the decision means that the UND will terminate Dr. Rask's contract after one more year.

RASK APPEALS TENURE TO UNIVERSITY SENATE

Violin professor Barbara Rask is appealing UND's decision this spring to deny her tenure, or permanent faculty status.

Backed by a number of parents of her music students. Rask has asked to have her case reviewed by a special committee of the University Senate.

UND MUSIC PROFESSOR IS MOVING TO TEXAS, BUT SHE WON'T DROP APPEAL

UND music professor Barbara Rask is moving this week to Texas, but says she'll continue to appeal the university's denial of tenure status to her after seven years on the faculty.

Rask, a violinist recently won a re-evaluation of her UND musical performance record, and her case has been forwarded by a special review panel to the faculty rights committee of the University Senate.
