RAKOW ANSWERS STRATHE IN UND DISPUTE

Provost Marlene Strathe's memo of Aug. 8 to the UND community is in need of factual correction on four points:

Resources. Despite assurances that the UND School of Communication budget would remain intact in its move to the College of Fine Arts, a faculty line and part-time and lecturer funds totaling more than $90,000 were removed from the school. This figure does not include the funds lost over and above the school's regular budget, which had been provided by the College of Arts and Sciences.
